Fashion industry lacks transparency about suppliers, manufacturers and source of raw materials and we want to change that. We leave no stone unturned when we reveal the process of how our swimsuits are made.
Abandon fishing nets
Each year, 640,000 tonnes of fishing nets are discarded at sea. Some are recovered by volunteer divers from Healthy Seas, a non-profit organization saving the lives of countless marine animals through the removal of ghost nets.
Sustainable fiber
The recovered nets are recycled in Slovenia to become ECONYL® regenerated nylon, a highly sustainable material thanks to its ability to be recycled infinitely without any loss of quality. Econyl® fibers are then sent to Italy and transformed into high quality, eco-friendly fabric, that is twice as resistant than commercial swimwear
Ethically produced
The fabric returns to Slovenia to our manufacturer, a small family-owned business, where it gets cut and sewn into timeless practical pieces by seamstresses who are paid a fair living wage. Because we know our manufacturing team personally, we can assure you they maintain a high standard of ethics and environmental responsibility.
Sustainable packaging
The finished Swimsor pieces are wrapped in soy-based, completely acid-free and FSC-certified ink tissue, and packed in plant-based, 100% compostable mailer, making Swimsor swimwear environment-friendly from head to toe.
